Three Courses, One Skill — Reading What Arrives
All Pinehurst courses teach the same core skill — reading financial documents — at different depths. Choose the level that fits your schedule and starting point.

The Pinehurst Methodology
Every Pinehurst course is built around the same principle: you learn to read a document by working through that document, page by page, with someone who can explain what each part means. This is not a seminar about financial concepts. It is a reading lesson using documents you recognise.
Materials are anonymised versions of actual Malaysian household documents. Terminology is explained when it appears on the page, in the context of the document it belongs to. Questions are asked and answered in the room — not deferred to a follow-up email or a FAQ page.
Each course level extends the depth of engagement, from a single document type in a single day, to multiple document types over an extended cohort. The skill — reading — stays the same. The breadth and the practice time increase.
Malaysian document formats — EPF, bank, unit trust
Capped at 12 participants per session
Printed materials included in all course fees
No financial advice — ever
All sessions in person, Damansara Utama, PJ
Three Statements In Plain English
A one-day workshop focused on reading the three main types of statements an adult household receives — bank statements, investment summaries, and EPF reports. Participants work through anonymised sample documents in small groups and leave with a printed "what each line means" reference card.
- Bank statement structure and terminology explained line by line
- EPF member statement sections — contribution history, dividends, withdrawal
- Unit trust / investment summary — what the figures refer to
- Printed "what each line means" reference card to take home
- Session is educational — no financial advice provided
Numbers Without Numbness Programme
A four-session evening course that builds quiet confidence in reading household financial documents. Each session takes one type of document and walks through its structure, terminology, and common patterns. Includes a printed glossary, sample annotated documents, and worksheets for taking notes when reading one's own statements at home.
- Session 1: Bank statements — current and savings accounts
- Session 2: EPF member statements — all sections covered
- Session 3: Unit trust and investment summaries
- Session 4: Reading across documents — patterns and cross-referencing
- Printed glossary and annotated examples for each document type
The Statement Reading Cohort
An eight-week cohort programme combining structured lessons, peer reading practice on sample anonymised statements, and small-group discussions about how to make sense of what households commonly receive. Includes printed reader, weekly facilitator sessions, a private discussion forum, and a printed final workbook. The programme is informational only.
- Weekly structured lessons — eight sessions over eight weeks
- Peer reading practice — participants read with a partner, compare notes
- Private discussion forum for questions between sessions
- Printed course reader and a final compiled workbook
- Six-week post-cohort discussion access after the programme ends

How Every Course Is Delivered
Anonymised Materials
All sample documents are anonymised before use. No real account holder data is ever seen by participants.
Facilitated, Not Lectured
Sessions are run as facilitated group exercises, not presentations. Questions are answered in the room as they arise.
Participant Data Privacy
Registration information is used only for session administration and is not shared with third parties.
Updated Annually
Reference cards and glossaries are reviewed each year to reflect current statement layouts from Malaysian banks and EPF.
No Advice Given
Pinehurst courses explain what documents say. What participants do with that information is entirely their own decision.
In-Person Only
All sessions run at the Damansara Utama location. The in-person format is central to how Pinehurst works — not a compromise.
