Why Pinehurst
What You Get That You Won't Find Elsewhere
Pinehurst is not a financial planning service or an online course platform. It is a small, in-person programme built around the documents Malaysian adults actually need to read.

Six Reasons Participants Choose Pinehurst
Sessions Stay Small
Maximum 12 participants means every question gets a direct answer and the pace suits the group.
Real Document Types
Every session works from anonymised bank statements, EPF reports, and unit trust summaries — not invented examples.
Printed Materials to Keep
Reference cards, glossaries, and annotated examples go home with you — built to be used when the next statement arrives.
In Person, PJ Location
All courses run face-to-face in Damansara Utama. Questions asked in a room get better answers than questions typed into a form.
No Advice — Ever
Pinehurst explains what documents say. It does not recommend what to do with your money. That boundary is consistent and deliberate.
Three Levels Available
From a one-day introduction to an eight-week cohort. Choose the depth that fits your schedule and where you are starting from.
Facilitators Who Know the Documents
Pinehurst facilitators come from backgrounds in bank operations and adult education — not sales or financial planning. They know how Malaysian bank statements are structured because they have worked with them professionally, and they know how to explain things in a room because that is what they have spent years doing.
- Direct experience reading Malaysian financial documents professionally
- Adult education background — not lecture-style delivery
- Reference materials reviewed and updated each year
"The kind of knowledge that used to get passed down at the kitchen table — explained at your own pace, by someone who has time to answer follow-up questions."

A Structure That Builds on Itself
Each course follows a consistent format: one document type at a time, worked through from first page to last. Terminology is introduced as it appears on the page, not in isolation. Participants leave each session having gone through a full document, not just selected sections.
- Structured around actual document layout, not a generic framework
- Terminology explained in context, on the page
- Each session complete in itself — no prior session required for the day course
Open the sample document — exactly as it arrives in the post
Walk through each section, labelling what each part shows
Note down questions as they arise — answer in the room
Take the printed reference card home for the next time
Support That Fits the Course Format
Cohort participants have access to a private discussion channel for six weeks after the programme ends. One-day and four-session participants receive direct email follow-up contact for questions about course materials. Pinehurst does not offer ongoing consultation.
- Six-week post-cohort discussion access
- Email follow-up for questions about printed materials
- Responsive office by phone and email — Monday to Saturday
Straightforward Pricing, All-In
Course fees cover all printed materials — reference cards, glossaries, annotated examples, workbooks. There are no add-ons or supplementary material charges. The fee for the cohort programme also includes access to the private discussion channel throughout and after the eight weeks.
- All printed materials included in course fee
- No separate charge for reference packs or workbooks
- Fees published clearly — RM 520 / RM 1,290 / RM 2,580

What Sets Us Apart
Distinctive Features of the Pinehurst Format
The "What Each Line Means" Reference Card
A printed, laminated card included with every one-day session — designed to sit next to a real statement at home. Not available as a standalone purchase; it accompanies the course.
Peer Reading Practice in the Cohort
The eight-week cohort includes structured peer reading sessions — pairs of participants work through the same sample statement independently, then compare observations. This format builds reading habits rather than dependency on the facilitator.
Malaysian Context Throughout
EPF, ASB, Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank — the documents and examples used reflect what Malaysian households actually receive, not generic Western templates adapted for the region.
A Printed Final Workbook
Cohort participants receive a printed workbook at the end of the programme — a compiled, personalised set of notes and reference pages built from the eight weeks of sessions.
