Why Pinehurst

A Different Kind of Learning Environment

We keep sessions small and the pace unhurried. No financial background assumed.

Grounded in Real Documents

Every session uses anonymised documents of the type participants actually receive — EPF statements, bank account summaries, unit trust reports.

Small Groups, Real Pace

Sessions are kept to 12 participants or fewer so that questions get answered and nobody feels left behind when the topic turns technical.

Printed Materials to Keep

Reference cards, glossaries, and annotated examples go home with you. The aim is that you can use them when a statement arrives in the post.

In-Person, Petaling Jaya

All courses run face-to-face in Damansara Utama. The classroom setting makes it easier to ask questions and compare notes with other participants.

Educational, Not Advisory

Pinehurst teaches document literacy — how to read and understand what is written. We do not provide financial, investment, or legal advice of any kind.

Three Levels of Depth

From a focused one-day session to an eight-week cohort, you choose how deeply you want to engage with the material — starting whenever it suits your schedule.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Who are these courses for?
Pinehurst courses are designed for working adults and retirees in Malaysia who regularly receive bank statements, EPF statements, or investment summaries and find it difficult to make sense of the figures. No prior financial knowledge is expected or required.
Will I receive financial advice during the course?
No. Pinehurst provides educational instruction on document reading — how to identify sections, understand terminology, and interpret figures in context. We do not offer financial, investment, or legal advice, and nothing shared during our sessions should be taken as such.
What documents are covered in the courses?
Courses focus on the documents Malaysian households most commonly receive: bank account statements, EPF (KWSP) member statements, unit trust and investment summaries, and similar household financial documents. All samples used in class are anonymised.
How many people attend each session?
We keep sessions to a maximum of 12 participants. This allows the facilitator to address questions from everyone in the room and keeps the pace manageable for different learning styles.
Where do the sessions take place?
All Pinehurst sessions are held in person at our premises in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The address is 76 Jalan SS 21/35, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya.
How do I register for a course?
Use the enquiry form on this page or call +60 3 7728 4659 during office hours. Once we confirm a place and the session date, payment details will be provided. Places are reserved only upon payment.
What is the course fee and how is payment made?
Three Statements In Plain English: RM 520. Numbers Without Numbness Programme: RM 1,290. The Statement Reading Cohort: RM 2,580. Payment methods are shared when you confirm registration. Fees cover all printed materials included in each course.
